Macaly is an AI-powered tool for building websites and web applications. You can create a project by describing in everyday language what you want to build and how it should work.
Unlike a traditional website builder, Macaly is not limited to arranging predefined templates and elements. Macaly’s AI agent can build and refine the project based on your instructions, including both the visual design and functionality.

Build by describing what you need
Using Macaly starts by telling it, in your own words, what you want to build.
Create a modern website for a massage studio. I need a home page, services, pricing and a contact form.
Or, for a web application:
Create a customer portal where users can sign in, view their own projects and send messages to the administrator.
Macaly creates the first version of the project based on your instructions. You can then continue the conversation and ask for changes.
You do not need to plan the entire project before you start. You can build it step by step and refine the result as the project develops.
Websites and web applications
Macaly is not only intended for traditional websites. You can use it to build many different kinds of web-based projects, for example:

You can continue editing the project later
A Macaly project is not locked after the first version has been created.
You can return to the project later and request changes such as:
- new pages or application views
- text changes
- a different color scheme
- navigation changes
- new forms
- new functionality
- user interface improvements
- changes to the mobile layout
For smaller visual changes, you can also use Edit design to select an element directly in the project and adjust it.
If a larger change does not produce the result you expected, you can also return to an earlier version of the project.
Use your own material as a starting point
You do not have to explain everything using text alone. You can provide Macaly with supporting material such as:
- images
- screenshots
- logos
- sketches
- PDF files
- brand materials
- a reference URL or an existing website
For example, you can provide a sketch of an application dashboard and ask Macaly to build an interface based on it.
An existing website can also be used as a reference or starting point when describing what you want to create.
Macaly can use a database

Publish your project online
When your project is ready, you can publish it online.
With Macaly Free, you can publish using a Macaly-provided domain. A custom domain can be connected when your Macaly plan supports it.
The required DNS settings are managed separately through the domain provider. If the domain is managed through Domainhotelli, the required DNS changes can be made through Domainhotelli’s
control panel.

Macaly and email are separate services
Macaly is used to build and publish the website or web application, but it does not replace a normal email hosting service.
For example, info@company.com can continue to use Domainhotelli‘s email service while the website at company.fi is published with Macaly.
Website and email DNS records can be configured separately.
Macaly is not WordPress
Macaly is its own environment for building websites and web applications.
It does not create WordPress websites and does not use WordPress themes or plugins. Features are built into the Macaly project with the help of AI or connected to supported external services where applicable.
If you specifically need WordPress or WordPress plugins, a traditional web hosting package with WordPress is a more suitable option.
