Macaly helps build the project in a technically search-engine-friendly way, but good search visibility also depends on the content, page structure and how clearly the public pages explain their topic to search engines.
SEO is particularly relevant to websites and the publicly visible pages of web applications. Personal views behind a login are generally not built for search engines.
1. Plan public pages around the user’s needs
Think about what users are searching for, what the main topic of each page is and whether the page contains enough useful information.
For a web application, public SEO pages could include the home page, features, pricing, guides and contact information.
2. Use clear page headings
Each public page should have a clear main heading.
Massage services in Helsinki says more than simply Services. On a web application’s public introduction page, Project management for small businesses is more descriptive than Welcome.
3. Write content primarily for the user
Good SEO content answers the user’s questions naturally. Explain what you offer, who the service is for, how it works and how the user can proceed.
Rewrite the text on this page so it clearly explains what the service offers, who it is intended for and how the user can get started. Keep the text natural.
4. Use descriptive URLs
A short, descriptive address such as company.com/services is clearer than a random technical address.
If the URL of an already published page changes, consider redirecting the old address when necessary.
5. Add descriptive alt text to images
Alt text describes the content of an image when the image cannot be seen and also supports accessibility.
Review the images on the public pages and add short, descriptive alt text to them.
6. Review the project’s SEO Audit
An SEO Audit can be run for a published Macaly project to help identify areas that could be improved for search visibility.

The SEO Audit itself does not use AI credits.
7. Fix identified issues with Macaly
SEO Audit may provide an option to send an identified issue to the Agent for correction with Fix with AI/Fix all with AI.
Changes made by AI use Macaly credits. Always review the changes before publishing.

8. Republish the project after SEO changes
The editing environment and the published project are separate. Once the SEO changes are ready, review the project in Preview and publish it again.
9. In a web application, focus on public views
Search engine optimisation should focus on the pages through which you want new users to discover the service.
Dashboards, user profiles, customer data and personal views behind a login are generally not SEO content.
10. Search visibility does not appear immediately
Publishing a project does not mean it will immediately appear in search results. Search engines first need to discover and process the pages.
In addition to technical implementation, rankings are influenced by factors such as content quality, competition, the topic of the website and links from other websites.
Good to remember
- optimise public pages first
- use clear headings and useful content
- check title and meta description information
- use descriptive URLs and alt text
- use SEO Audit to check the project
- republish the project after making changes
